Believer in Butt Blankets

Receiving blankets have taken on a whole new meaning since Super Pooper was born. These soft, pastel blankets traditionally used to swaddle babies are now serving an unenviable purpose; they are our shields against Super Pooper’s unlimited arsenal of poop!

It’s not like I’m new to the poop thing. There were countless full body changes with my first two girls, but Super Pooper is in a class of her own.
She startles me with explosive sneak attacks! Once when I was holding her on my lap so she could stand up, I jumped when I heard a bellowing blast and was stunned to see that poop had shot up both sides of her torso to where I was holding her under the arms. Ick! After the initial shock, and quick repositioning of the receiving blanket, a new product was born . . . the butt blanket.

Now I’m prepared for the onslaught. I have butt blankets at the chairs where I breastfeed, on the swing, on the bouncy seat, on the car seat, in the bassinettes, the crib, and in our bed. Wherever Super Pooper’s bottom goes, a butt blanket is there. Ready to receive.
